Our Accommodation
The suites at the Fairlawns comprise of some of the most opulent and distinctive suites in South Africa. Each is individually designed, both architecturally and decoratively, a Suite for every taste. All have large windows overlooking some aspect of the landscaped garden, individually controlled air-conditioning, in-room bars, wireless and broadband internet connectivity, international adaptors, DVDs and flat screen TVs, to ensure comfort and global communication.
There are 12 Courtyard suites (Classic suites), 6 Villa suites (Superior suites), 20 Grande Chateau suites (Classic suites) and a 240m2 Presidential Residence which comprises 3 ensuite bedrooms, walk-in dressing room, steam and double showers, sitting and dining rooms, study, kitchenette and guest cloakroom, as well as a private entrance for those wanting privacy and anonymity.
Courtyard suites: These are Eurocentric , individually decorated, 54sqm suites with beautiful hand-painted techniques, high corniced ceilings, sumptuous fabrics and custom made classical furniture.
The spacious bathrooms are fully equipped with bidets, marble vanities, large separate showers and baths. Working fireplaces enhance the romanticism of the suites.
They comprise: The Windsor, The Empire, The French Provencial, The African, The Louis, The Bismark, The Swedish, The Scottish, The Mural, The English Manor, The Florentine and The Honeymoon Suite, with its stunning, over the top canopied bed which is a copy of one seen in the Palace of Versailles.
Each Suite is a work of Art in its own right. Definitely not your run of the mill hotel suite!
Villa Suites - Superior Suites Unlike the Courtyard Suites, the 84sqm Villa Suites relate to some aspects of South African history and honour such distinguished men and women as Emily Hobhouse, Jan Smuts, Nelson Mandela, Harry Oppenheimer and Mahatma Gandhi.
The public area on both levels creates a cozy atmosphere with lounges and large sandstone fireplaces. A lift provides easy access to the second level and the environment is wheelchair friendly.

From the spacious well-appointed bathrooms to the goose down duvets and pure cotton linen on the extra length beds, comfort is of the utmost importance. Items such as in-room safes and personal bars, satellite channels, DVDs, complimentary wireless and broadband connectivity are standard throughout.
More unique are the working fireplaces in every suite of the Villa and Courtyard wings, the romantic ambience and the little complimentary touches and services. There is a well-stocked library to browse through, or relax under one of the pool gazebos and admire the garden and prolific bird life. The world-class gym with him and her complimentary steam and infra red sauna facilities, not to mention the exquisite spa facilities with its authentic imported Balinese garden and private couples spa villa, are well worth a visit.
Internationally security has become a concern and Fairlawns has addressed this with excellent 24 hour security systems and patrols.
Our Guest Desk can assist with travel arrangements and organizing local tours to the numerous places of current and historical interest in and around Johannesburg. Our drivers are on hand to transfer guests to any of the well-worth a visit shopping areas or restaurants in the vicinity.
The bar boasts a wine list that has consistently been awarded Platinum and Diamond awards since its opening in 1998. The outdoor informal dining on the terrace looking over the sparkling pool is a favourite meeting place for a breakfast, light lunch or sundowner.
