De Kelders Private Retreat
Welcome to De Kelders Private Villa!
Travellers to the De Kelders Private are well looked after. Our 3 en-suite guest rooms have high ceilings, ample light and ventilation and offer complete privacy. The house is a gem for the magazine, movie, book and music fundi. Our large and spacious garden is a ten year creation of overberg flora, planted with privacy being the keyword and the salt water pool a welcome escape from the summer heat. Our open terrace is secluded and offers the perfect hideaway for reading, drinks and a south african braai.
The ocean is a mere 200 steps away where you can meander on trails and watch the spectacular sunsets over Walker Bay and talk with the whales (June - December), before you return for dinner. Simple courses are prepared by your hosts, washed down with local boutique estate wines and then to the comfort of beds made with egyptian white percale cotton, sleeping with the sounds of the whales to awaken refreshed to the smell of a country breakfast of home baked confectionery, home made jams and preserves , fresh fruit juices and the smell of roasting bacon and brewed coffee.
Our Accommodation
The house offers three bedrooms.
Room 1:
Room 1 has a queen size bed, and a full bathroom with spa bath. A small private verandah looks out over the garden and from here a few steps lead down to the garden and the pool area where you can enjoy the warmth of the South African sun, reading, relaxing and cooling off in the salt water pool.
Room 2:
Room 2 is stylishly fitted with two single beds with an en-suite shower room and separate toilet. A small comfortable lounge leads to the private patio garden with beautiful views to the Gansbaai mountains.
Room 3:
Room 3 has a king size bed with a beautifully comfortable seating and lounge area | shower room and toilet are en-suite and there is a small practical study area | glass sliding doors open onto a patio garden overlooking the Gansbaai mountains
All rooms have wireless internet access ceiling fans and toiletries provided | a laundry service is also offered.

Our Facilities / Services
In the beautifully appointed lounge and dining area you will find libraries of books magazines cd's and videos for entertainment relaxation and inspiration. Adjourn to the terrace for afternoon tea, or sunset drinks looking out over the village of De Kelders and the magnificence of Walker Bay and the surrounding mountains. Here you can also enjoy authentic local Overberg cooking, with a famous bredie (stew) slow cooked in the Dover oven, or feast on food prepared over the open fire for a traditional south african 'braai'.
